Treasury Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete invoice and salary payment process, which includes validation, approval routing, foreign exchange management, and release across banks and electronic money institutions (EMIs), alongside beneficiary verification, dual authorization, handling returns, and addressing stuck payments.

• Collaborate with Finance leadership to redesign payment procedures, focusing on increased payment frequency, invoice validation with accounting, backup approvers, and adhering to the four-eyes principle.

• Gather balances from various sources including banks, acquirers, payment service providers (PSPs), exchanges, and custody accounts.

• Generate finalized cash flow reports with analytics detailing changes in cash and cryptocurrency positions.

• Conduct daily safeguarding reconciliations for e-money entities once they are operational.

• Oversee client-asset segregation and reconciliation in compliance with MiCA and PSD2 regulations.

• Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory evaluations.

• Manage recurring returns for licensed entities and prepare treasury evidence packages for audit and regulatory inquiries.

• Execute short-term forecasts, pre-fund settlement and trading accounts, manage sweeps, and oversee stablecoin and hot/cold float operations.

• Uphold treasury policies, authority matrices, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Transition reporting and reconciliation tasks from spreadsheets to Finance Systems and Engineering.

• Report directly to the Head of Treasury.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in treasury or payment operations, preferably within a crypto or fintech organization.

• Direct involvement in payment execution within a company setting, including managing approval workflows, banking portals, payment file formats, and segregation of duties.

• Practical experience with crypto operations, encompassing exchange and custody accounts, stablecoin settlements, hot/cold wallet management, on-chain verification, and network specifics like fees, finality, memo/tag, and stuck transactions.

• Responsibility for regular balance reporting and reconciliation in a multi-currency, multi-account environment, including the resolution of discrepancies.

• Familiarity with regulated environments, including regulatory reporting, safeguarding or client-money regulations, and audit or regulatory requests.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets.

• Outstanding attention to detail, ability to maintain precision under time constraints, and the capacity to handle sensitive financial information with complete discretion.

• Fluent in English.

• Located in a time zone that is close to CET/EET.

• Hands-on experience with PSD2 or EMI safeguarding reconciliation, including UK safeguarding (preferred).

• Knowledge of MiCA/CASP crypto-asset segregation and reporting (preferred).

• Experience in redesigning payment or approval processes in collaboration with accounting (preferred).

• Capability in building cash flow reports and dashboards; SQL skills beyond the basics (preferred).

• Familiarity with Fireblocks or similar custody/MPC platforms (preferred).

• Possession of a treasury certification such as ACT or CTP (preferred).
