Traveling Quality Control Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies.

• Confirm materials, welding consumables, and adherence to WPS requirements.

• Oversee welding and fabrication processes to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and project specifications.

• Coordinate and assist with NDT activities, including UT, MT, PT, and RT.

• Maintain inspection reports, quality records, NCRs, and turnover documentation.

• Observe welder qualification testing and keep welder continuity records up to date.

• Analyze drawings, specifications, WPS, PQRs, and project quality requirements.

• Collaborate with fabrication teams, Project Managers, customers, and inspectors to address quality issues.

• Promote quality improvement initiatives and foster a strong safety culture.

• Assist in inspections, turnover, and project closeout activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.

• 3–5+ years of experience in welding inspection within fabrication, structural steel, piping, or mechanical settings.

• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and ASME B31.1/B31.3.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, WPS, and PQR documentation.

• Familiarity with NDT methods is preferred.

• Strong grasp of quality control processes and documentation practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required on relevant job sites.
