Traveling Compliance Specialist – LIHTC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise compliance during the initial lease-up and/or takeover stages, ensuring that documentation and reporting are finalized promptly for management and external agencies.

• Guarantee the precise and timely handling of tenant and resident third-party verifications and compliance documentation.

• Execute comprehensive initial assessments of lease-up files for accuracy, completeness, and program eligibility prior to submission to regulatory bodies.

• Develop standardized review procedures and Quality Assurance checks to optimize file approvals and minimize error rates.

• Upload the final approved lease-up resident files into SharePoint, OneSite/Yardi, and investor platforms.

• Address audit findings and implement corrective action plans as needed.

• Collaborate with leasing, operations, social services teams, site personnel, residents, housing agencies, and other stakeholders.

• Carry out additional assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• 90-100% travel is required.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in affordable housing compliance with a strong understanding of multifamily leasing and compliance for both LIHTC and PBRA Section 8 programs.

• Recent experience with LIHTC Initial Lease-Ups or LIHTC Acquisition/Rehab Lease Ups is essential.

• COS Certification through NCHM is required or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.

• HCCP, BOS, AHM, or other recognized affordable housing compliance certifications are preferred.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong interpersonal abilities, including experience managing personnel (preferably across multiple locations).

• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management capabilities.

• Highly detail-oriented.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functionalities.

• Experience with Yardi and/or RealPage/OneSite is preferred, or the ability to quickly learn new software.
