Transportation & Logistics Manager – Live Events

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Transport Coordinators, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to strategize freight movements that align with shipment requirements and event deadlines.

• Choose carriers, secure capacity, and orchestrate pickup and delivery schedules.

• Monitor shipments, address delays, and communicate delivery risks along with recovery plans.

• Manage international and cross-border freight in collaboration with carriers and customs brokers.

• Ensure the accuracy of customs documentation and HS codes for prompt clearance.

• Keep temporary import records and track re-export deadlines effectively.

• Maintain shipment and customs records for compliance audits.

• Identify and onboard carriers based on their coverage, cost, reputation, and capabilities.

• Negotiate freight rates, service terms, and capacity with carrier partners.

• Verify the insurance coverage of carriers and maintain compliance records.

• Evaluate freight options and monitor the performance of carriers.

• Analyze freight costs and carrier performance to uncover savings and enhance service quality.

• Investigate and document instances of lost, damaged, or delayed shipments.

• Submit claims to carriers and pursue reimbursements or credits.

• Review freight invoices and address discrepancies with the Accounting department.

• Coordinate team priorities and coverage to ensure seamless shipment processes.

• Assist Transport Coordinators with operational inquiries and shipment-related issues.

• Maintain transportation procedures, flowcharts, and vendor information within Nexus.

• Collaborate with the software team to troubleshoot system issues impacting transportation operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in transportation and logistics, encompassing freight planning, carrier coordination, and rate negotiation.

• Background in cross-border and international freight, including customs documentation and coordination with brokers.

• Management experience in supervising teams and daily transportation or logistics operations.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in live events, touring, or production logistics.

• Excellent organizational, forward-planning, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office and Excel.

• Ability to analyze freight costs and evaluate carrier performance.
