Transit Safety Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee project tasks for both internal and external clients throughout the United States

• Implement risk-management processes developed by FTA and adhere to APTA industry standards

• Create PHAs/TVAs and corresponding mitigations/countermeasures

• Facilitate workshops with multidisciplinary teams and committees

• Generate CELs/CILs

• Develop DCCCs/CSCCs

• Engage directly with agency clients and project managers

• Prepare SSC documentation and reports

• Create, assess, and refresh PTASPs on an annual basis

• Conduct SSC peer evaluations

• Provide SSC training for both internal and external clients

• Offer guidance and support to multidisciplinary colleagues and junior staff

• Accomplish tasks with minimal supervision from senior management

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

• Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

• Preferred: Completion of Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Programs (PTSCTP and/or TSSP)

• Preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

• Preferred: FTA TSSP Bus/Rail Certification

• Proficient in CPTED Design Standards

• Proficient in ADA Design Standards and project delivery compliance

• Proficient in NFPA 130 Design Standards

• Proven expertise in the FTA Safety & Security Certification Process

• Proven expertise in APTA Safety & Security Certification Standards

• Proven expertise in PTASP Development and Annual Review Process

• Proven expertise in Safety & Security Certification Documentation

• Proven expertise in Safety & Security Design Review

• Proven expertise in Hazard and Vulnerability Analysis/Assessments
