Transit Safety Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee project tasks for both internal and external clients throughout the United States.

• Implement risk-management processes developed by the FTA and adhere to APTA industry standards.

• Create PHAs/TVAs along with relevant mitigations and countermeasures.

• Facilitate workshops with multidisciplinary teams and committees.

• Formulate CELs/CILs.

• Develop DCCCs/CSCCs.

• Engage directly with agency clients and project managers.

• Prepare SSC documentation and reports.

• Annually develop, review, and update PTASPs.

• Conduct SSC peer reviews.

• Provide SSC training sessions for both internal and external clients.

• Offer direction and mentorship to multidisciplinary colleagues and junior staff.

• Complete tasks with minimal supervision from senior management.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Capability to pass an MVR check.

• Experience in Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Programs (PTSCTP, TSSP).

• Background in State Safety Oversight (SSO).

• Proven success in U.S. domestic Cybersecurity and Safety and Security (SS).

• Public Transportation Safety Certification (PTSCTP and/or TSSP) preferred.

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.

• Preferred FTA TSSP Bus/Rail Certification.

• Working knowledge of CPTED Design Standards.

• Proficient in project delivery compliance with ADA Design Standards.

• Familiarity with NFPA 130 Design Standards in project deliveries.

• Demonstrated proficiency in the FTA Safety & Security Certification Process.

• Proven expertise with APTA Safety & Security Certification Standards.

• Proficient in PTASP Development and the Annual Review Process.

• Skilled in Safety & Security Certification Documentation.

• Experienced in project deliveries related to Safety & Security Design Review.

• Adept in Hazard and Vulnerability Analysis/Assessments in project deliveries.
