Transit Safety Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee project activities for both internal and external clients throughout the United States

• Implement risk-management strategies established by FTA and comply with industry standards from APTA

• Offer leadership and mentorship to colleagues from various disciplines and junior team members

• Create PHAs/TVAs along with their respective mitigations and countermeasures

• Facilitate workshops with diverse groups and committees

• Generate CELs/CILs

• Formulate DCCCs/CSCCs

• Engage directly with agency clients and project managers

• Draft SSC documents and reports

• Develop, assess, and renew PTASPs on an annual basis

• Conduct SSC peer evaluations

• Provide SSC training for both internal staff and external clients

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree along with 6 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalence of education and experience

• Capability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

• Preferred Public Transportation Safety Certification (PTSCTP and/or TSSP)

• Preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

• Preferred FTA TSSP Bus/Rail Certification

• Working knowledge of CPTED Design Standards

• Working knowledge and compliance with ADA Design Standards in project delivery

• Working knowledge and compliance with NFPA 130 Design Standards in project delivery

• Demonstrated proficiency with the FTA Safety & Security Certification Process

• Demonstrated proficiency with APTA Safety & Security Certification Standards

• Demonstrated proficiency in PTASP Development and the Annual Review Process

• Demonstrated proficiency with Safety & Security Certification Documentation

• Demonstrated proficiency in project deliveries involving Safety & Security Design Review

• Demonstrated proficiency in project deliveries related to Hazard and Vulnerability Analysis/Assessments
