Trade Mark Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily management of trade mark portfolios across the UK, EU, and international markets.

• Prepare and submit applications to the UKIPO and WIPO.

• Handle correspondence, oversee renewals, and maintain portfolio records.

• Draft, file, and monitor responses to examiner reports, office actions, and other official communications.

• Communicate directly with clients and international agents regarding instructions, updates on processes, and portfolio issues.

• Conduct and report on both basic and advanced trade mark searches.

• Keep track of deadlines and manage cases utilizing the trade mark management system.

• Create comprehensive client status reports and ensure accurate maintenance of portfolio records.

• Assist solicitors and Trade Mark Attorneys with oppositions, invalidations, and cancellations before the UKIPO.

• Aid in the enhancement of internal systems, processes, and standards of client care.

• Engage in team discussions, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the establishment of best practices.

• Collaborate closely with solicitors, Trade Mark Attorneys, and the broader IP team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in a Trade Mark Paralegal position within a UK-based firm.

• Capability to work independently, take initiative, and assume responsibility.

• Experience in managing trade mark files, handling registry correspondence, and interacting directly with clients.

• Ability to prioritize tasks autonomously and manage deadlines within a complex, high-volume caseload.

• Familiarity with trade mark portfolio management software, preferably Equinox or a similar system.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Professional and approachable demeanor when engaging with clients and agents.

• Willingness to support team members and contribute to the development of the department.

• Interest in assessing and enhancing internal procedures and client service standards.
