Trade Compliance Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee, enhance, and implement strategies for a comprehensive Trade Compliance Management Program.

• Act as the subject matter expert in matters of import and export compliance.

• Provide advice and direction to the business unit regarding compliance policies and procedures.

• Ensure that business operations adhere to relevant import and export control laws and regulations.

• Prepare documentation and address corrective actions linked to EEI audits.

• Create and sustain standard operating procedures for import/export transactions and documentation processing.

• Design and deliver training related to import/export compliance.

• Establish import/export compliance KPIs.

• Assist in the assignment of HTS and ECCN codes to products.

• Support C-TPAT audits and initiatives to uphold certification standards.

• Track changes in import/export control laws and regulations and communicate necessary actions.

• Review and evaluate rejected freight bills while verifying general ledger entries.

• Process export documentation for Certificates of Origin, Compliance, Quality, and ITAR.

• Conduct research and undertake special projects.

• Promote continuous improvement, share best practices, and achieve cost excellence.

• Assist in processing duty drawbacks.

• Coordinate freight movements with freight forwarders throughout the global supply chain.

• Support strategic initiatives in collaboration with Corporate Logistics.

• Manage various projects, devise solutions, justify investments, oversee implementations, integrate systems with processes, provide training, and assess outcomes.

• Supervise, mentor, and nurture the development of Import/Export Analysts and Export Coordinators.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade or a related discipline is preferred.

• At least 3 years of experience in a trade compliance-related area.

• Licensed customs broker is advantageous.

• Familiarity with import and export compliance, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Understanding of the Export Management and Compliance Program, as well as internal customs policies and import procedures.

• Capability to manage EEI audits and corrective actions effectively.

• Proficiency in HTS and ECCN classification codes.

• Knowledge of C-TPAT audits and certification prerequisites.

• Familiarity with Certificates of Origin, Compliance, Quality, and ITAR export documentation.

• Understanding of duty drawbacks for imported/excisable materials utilized in exported products.

• Skills in developing compliance KPIs, training, standard work documentation, and process enhancements.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor/develop Import/Export Analysts and Export Coordinators.
