Trade Compliance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Guarantee adherence to relevant import/export regulations by maintaining precise documentation and tracking regulatory changes.

• Categorize products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) across various jurisdictions and manage tariff databases.

• Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation, entry amendments, and duty drawback applications.

• Collaborate with customs brokers, freight carriers, and regulatory bodies to address shipment challenges.

• Maintain and audit trade compliance records, including Certificates of Origin, COO documentation, and HTS classifications.

• Verify and authorize invoices for freight, brokerage, duties, and taxes.

• Conduct internal audits of shipping and customs procedures and implement necessary corrective actions.

• Work collaboratively across departments to establish new products in ERP systems with compliant trade data.

• Assist internal stakeholders and customers with inquiries regarding orders or shipments.

• Provide support for order processing and work together with Sales, Shipping, and Operations to ensure accurate fulfillment and customer satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 2–4 years of experience in customs compliance, logistics, or international trade.

• Solid understanding of import/export regulations, tariff classification (HTS), and trade agreements such as USMCA.

• Experience collaborating with customs brokers and freight carriers.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.

• Familiarity with shipping platforms such as FedEx and UPS is advantageous.

• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation or willingness to pursue certification is preferred.
