This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with daily operations related to customs, import, export, RMA, procurement, shipping, and customer due diligence processes.
• Collaborate on routine customs issues with brokers, freight forwarders, Shipping, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain, RMA, and Sales teams.
• Report any unusual compliance issues as necessary.
• Examine import and shipping documentation, which includes commercial invoices, packing lists, entry records, broker inquiries, and other relevant customs paperwork.
• Aid in HTS classification by analyzing product details, suggesting classifications, maintaining records, and collecting necessary supporting data.
• Collect and update information regarding country of origin, manufacturer, COTS classification, valuation, product descriptions, and other import-related details.
• Assist with export control assessments by compiling information about products, technology, destinations, end users, end uses, involved parties, and transaction structures.
• Support customer due diligence efforts using Dow Jones Risk Center, performing restricted party screening, reviewing red flags, and documenting findings.
• Help with export license applications and other authorizations by assembling inputs, records, and supporting documentation.
• At least 3 years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance, import/export operations, logistics compliance, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or a related field.
• Practical experience with HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, customs brokers, entry documents, and shipping documentation.
• Familiarity with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Knowledge of restricted party screening, customer due diligence, end-use/end-user red flags, and sanctions-related transaction reviews.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, follow-up capabilities, and recordkeeping proficiency.
• Capability to handle multiple transactional requests while escalating compliance issues clearly and in a timely manner.
• Experience with SNAP-R, DECCS, or assisting with export license applications and other export authorizations.
