This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and uphold AKI's corporate compliance program throughout all subsidiaries and contracted entities.
• Provide guidance to the CEO regarding regulatory obligations, compliance risks, internal controls, and necessary corrective measures.
• Assess compliance risks and suggest appropriate policies, procedures, and preventive strategies.
• Create, implement, and sustain corporate compliance policies and procedures.
• Maintain a centralized compliance calendar and a register for compliance risks.
• Keep track of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, evaluating their impact on the organization.
• Perform periodic compliance assessments and internal compliance evaluations.
• Oversee compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCAA, DCMA, SBA 8(a), ANC, SCA, and federal contractor regulations.
• Coordinate audits for government contractors, regulatory reviews, SBA assessments, government inquiries, and regulatory submissions.
• Monitor contract certifications, reporting duties, registrations, representations, certifications, and renewal timelines.
• Direct compliance activities related to CMMI implementation, maintenance, and readiness for appraisal.
• Maintain repositories for policies, procedures, process assets, templates, and supporting documents.
• Develop audit schedules, checklists, review protocols, and compliance assessment resources.
• Analyze audit results and manage corrective and preventive action plans.
• Track the progress of corrective actions and ensure that identified deficiencies are resolved.
• Set timelines for corporate, regulatory, and government contracting reports, certifications, and renewals.
• Coordinate EEO-1, VETS-4212, affirmative action, DCAA, DCMA, SBA, and contractual reporting obligations.
• Organize compliance training and awareness programs, maintaining records of completion.
• Prepare compliance dashboards, management reports, audit summaries, and executive updates for the CEO.
• Convey compliance expectations, findings, recommendations, and regulatory changes.
• Work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, Contracts, Operations, IT, department leaders, employees, and external stakeholders.
• Foster accountability, regulatory awareness, ethical behavior, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Compliance, Legal Studies, Accounting, or a related discipline; equivalent pertinent experience may be accepted.
• At least 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate compliance, regulatory compliance, government contracting, or a related area.
• Proven experience in assessing compliance risks, conducting internal reviews, and proposing corrective measures.
• Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and federal government contracting compliance standards.
• Experience in coordinating government contractor audits, regulatory assessments, or internal compliance reviews.
• Understanding of compliance management practices, internal controls, regulatory reporting, and risk assessment.
• Capability to develop, implement, and uphold compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and subsidiaries.
• Competence in handling sensitive compliance issues with professionalism, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
• Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
• Capacity to exercise independent judgment, remain objective, and manage confidential or sensitive compliance matters.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities, deadlines, and compliance initiatives across various business entities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Preferred: experience with Alaska Native Corporations, SBA 8(a), CMMI, DCAA/DCMA, SCA, EEO, veteran reporting, compliance systems, Deltek Costpoint, ADP Workforce Now, or similar platforms.
• Preferred professional certifications such as CCEP, CIA, or CMMI Associate.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if necessary.
