This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee and direct business development efforts in key customer accounts throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
• Represent AbbVie to designated Key Accounts and foster enduring customer relationships across the Glaucoma and Dry Eye Disease portfolios.
• Nurture existing customer relationships while enhancing awareness and utilization of AbbVie Vision Care products.
• Manage sales activities at both customer and hospital levels in alignment with approved marketing strategies and company policies.
• Meet or surpass sales targets for the designated territory.
• Serve as the customer authority and manage AbbVie’s commercial relationships with External Experts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally within AbbVie to optimize sales performance.
• Ensure internal team members comprehend and execute the customer strategy and sales expectations.
• Identify opportunities for co-developing solutions within Key Accounts.
• Recognize challenges to effective customer engagements and implement processes to address or mitigate them.
• Advocate for customers within AbbVie by identifying their issues, concerns, and priorities.
• Establish deep connections within Key Account organizations to understand their priorities, structure, and business landscape.
• Formulate account-specific strategies consistent with AbbVie’s guidelines and values.
• Partner with the AbbVie Medical team and AbbVie Institute’s Clinical Specialist to enhance product knowledge and business training.
• Create comprehensive strategic business plans to boost market share in glaucoma and dry eye portfolios.
• Conduct regular external and internal sales performance reviews of the territory.
• Implement national marketing initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Identify new collaboration and growth opportunities along with new Key Accounts.
• Manage the overall territory budget and resource distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science, or an equivalent field, or an MBA with a combination of experience and education is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or head office operations is necessary.
• Experience in Key Account Management is highly valued.
• A background in Pharmaceutical/Medical Sales is essential.
• A solid understanding of the institutional/Key Account healthcare sector is preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving and/or exceeding business objectives.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Demonstrates robust business acumen and is a proactive self-starter.
• Exhibits leadership qualities, effective listening, and adaptability skills.
• Possesses strong presentation and communication skills.
• Proven capability to communicate effectively across various functions within the organization.
• Ability to engage with senior leaders both within the company and with customers.
• Candidate must be proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Highly collaborative with a strong customer-centric focus.
• Capable of traveling up to 50% of the time.
• Position entails evening and weekend work, including overnight travel.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and passport.
• Ability to think strategically to aid in the formulation of a high-quality territory plan.
