This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist Koniag Technology Solutions and its federal client in a business and IT modernization initiative.
• Ensure that all deliverables for each sprint align with USDA's quality, security, accessibility, and performance requirements.
• Employ both automated and manual testing methodologies to verify the ERAS Platform prior to each release.
• Create and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts for every sprint.
• Confirm a minimum of 90% automated test code coverage for the code delivered.
• Execute accessibility testing utilizing Accessibility Insights and the DHS Trusted Tester process to comply with WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards.
• Carry out static and dynamic security assessments using Snyk, npm audit, and OWASP ZAP.
• Assess API response times and page-render performance.
• Perform performance and load testing to ensure 99.99% system uptime during business hours.
• Document and report defects, including false positives found during security scans.
• Provide support for User Acceptance Testing at the six-month MVP milestone.
• Validate compliance with Section 508 and assist in preparing Accessibility Conformance Reports.
• Guarantee there are no linting errors or warnings according to the MDN Web Developer Guides.
• Maintain testing records and documentation in accordance with USDA's Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.
• Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is required, or equivalent practical experience in place of a degree.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting IT projects for the federal government.
• Proven experience in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts within an agile sprint environment.
• Hands-on expertise with automated testing frameworks and achieving high levels of code test coverage.
• Experience in conducting accessibility testing in accordance with WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards using Accessibility Insights or similar tools.
• Experience in performing security assessments with OWASP ZAP, Snyk, npm audit, or related tools.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as Google Lighthouse, JMeter, or similar.
• Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
• Experience with both automated and manual software testing in an agile context.
• Proficiency in using Accessibility Insights and the DHS Trusted Tester process.
• Understanding of WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and federal accessibility requirements.
• Strong skills in documentation and defect tracking.
• Prior experience on federal IT projects is preferred.
• Experience in supporting or participating in federal User Acceptance Testing is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with the USDA Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan process or similar federal quality oversight frameworks is advantageous.
• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level or Advanced Level is strongly preferred.
• DHS Trusted Tester Certification is highly preferred.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is a plus.
