Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Establish and advocate for best practices in quality engineering throughout the engineering organization.

• Define quality benchmarks, testing strategies, and automation frameworks across product teams.

• Promote shift-left testing across the software development lifecycle.

• Engage in architecture, design, and requirements reviews to proactively identify quality risks.

• Mentor QA engineers and developers in testing methodologies and quality engineering practices.

• Design, develop, and sustain automated testing frameworks and test suites.

• Execute functional, API, UI, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.

• Incorporate automated testing and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.

• Analyze test failures and facilitate root-cause analysis and resolution.

• Validate intricate workflows and functionalities of enterprise applications.

• Create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.

• Conduct exploratory, system, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Assess cloud-native applications operating in Microsoft Azure for reliability, scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance.

• Verify integrations among distributed systems, APIs, messaging platforms, and databases.

• Participate in release validation and readiness assessments for production.

• Test AI-driven features, including chatbots, assistants, agents, RAG solutions, and intelligent search functionalities.

• Evaluate the quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability of AI outputs.

• Support Responsible AI practices by establishing evaluation methodologies for AI.

• Assist with infrastructure validation, deployment testing, and DevSecOps initiatives.

• Monitor quality metrics and test coverage.

• Contribute to initiatives focused on continuous delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be accepted.

• Over 7 years of experience in software quality assurance.

• More than 5 years of hands-on experience in automated testing.

• Experience in supporting enterprise-scale software products.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.

• Experience collaborating directly with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Proficiency in one or more tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Puppeteer.

• Knowledge of test automation architecture, automated regression testing, CI/CD test execution, automated reporting, and dashboard creation.

• Experience with REST APIs, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, automated API validation, contract testing, and integration testing.

• Practical experience with C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PowerShell.

• Capability to develop maintainable automation frameworks and supporting utilities.

• Experience with load testing tools, performance test design, API performance validation, security testing fundamentals, and vulnerability assessment processes.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Storage, Azure API Management, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Azure Entra ID.

• Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, automated build and deployment pipelines, test execution within CI/CD workflows, quality gates, and release validation.

• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted software development, AI quality evaluation, AI agents, RAG, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, and Responsible AI principles.

• Understanding of testing challenges related to probabilistic systems, hallucinations, grounding, and AI governance.
