This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle and across all layers of the stack.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, DevOps, and fellow SDETs to create and execute comprehensive test strategies.
• Develop and sustain automated testing frameworks utilizing Playwright with TypeScript.
• Foster best practices in testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing levels.
• Incorporate testability and validation from the early stages of design and development.
• Implement observability tools, oversee critical user flows in production, and assess real-world performance and resilience.
• Provide support and guidance to frontend and backend teams on unit and service-level testing implementations.
• Ensure the reliability and speed of CI/CD pipelines while enhancing feedback loops for testing.
• Recognize and resolve coverage gaps, test flakiness, and performance challenges.
• Guarantee that test environments and data strategies are scalable, reproducible, and reflective of production conditions.
• Over 5 years of experience in an SDET, QA Automation, or Software Engineering role with a strong emphasis on testing.
• Extensive experience with TypeScript and Playwright (or comparable browser automation frameworks).
• Robust understanding of testing across the pyramid: unit, component, integration, and end-to-end.
• Experience with AWS and architectures for cloud-native applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests with tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across various disciplines.
• Experience with contract testing, mocking strategies, and service virtualization (preferred).
• Knowledge of shift-right testing practices, including synthetic monitoring, canary releases, A/B testing, or chaos testing (preferred).
• Understanding of performance testing, observability, or synthetic monitoring tools like Elastic, k6, Artillery, or Datadog (preferred).
• Awareness of feature flagging and progressive delivery workflows (preferred).
• Experience with AI Evals or tools such as Braintrust (preferred).
