Temporary Foundation Development Officer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Secure funding from philanthropic foundations located in Southern California.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Regional Philanthropy and the Regional Foundation Manager.

• Assist in the reporting process for current grants.

• Prepare and submit funding proposals.

• Conduct research to identify potential funding prospects.

• Help manage a network of partners dedicated to GRID Alternatives.

• Support initiatives aimed at enhancing major, impact-focused funding partnerships.

• Strong passion for renewable energy, affordable housing, workforce development, and/or environmental justice initiatives.

• Proven exceptional persuasive writing abilities, including grant proposals, oral presentations, and email correspondence.

• Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.

• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the capability to communicate efficiently with diverse internal team members.

• Proficient in using computer productivity tools, including Microsoft Office and Google Apps.

• Ability to create a strategy for prospecting new funders.

• 3–5 years or more of professional experience in nonprofit fundraising or grantmaking.

• Comfortable working as part of a team in a dynamic, informal, and rapidly growing organization.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

• Relevant experience in renewable energy, affordable housing, and/or environmental justice initiatives.

• Established relationships with local and national foundations that focus on climate change, environmental justice, and/or economic opportunity, particularly in Southern California.

• Experience working within or alongside a large, networked organization.

• Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM system.

• California applicants must be able to pass a screening for specified illegal drugs.
