Temporary Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Uphold the unique voice of Runner's World and maintain editorial standards across all assigned manuscripts.

• Execute developmental edits and precise line edits to enhance clarity, structure, and engage readers effectively.

• Evaluate copy edits, address editorial queries, and resolve discrepancies to guarantee high-quality final manuscripts.

• Collaborate with editors and stakeholders to produce refined content that meets editorial objectives and brand standards.

• Oversee multiple manuscripts, editorial review cycles, competing priorities, and deadlines efficiently.

• Ensure precision, consistency, and meticulous attention to detail across all assigned editorial projects.

• Contribute innovative ideas to improve content quality and enrich the reader's experience.

• Offer project-based editorial assistance from the initial content development phase through to final production.

• Create and refine content plans, write and edit copy, and work with editorial, design, production, and other cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of editorial experience in book publishing, magazines, digital media, or a related content field, or an equivalent background.

• Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with a keen eye for detail.

• Proven experience in developmental editing and line editing for long-form content.

• Excellent organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple deadlines at once.

• A creative thinker who introduces fresh, innovative concepts while upholding an established editorial voice.

• Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.

• Capability to work remotely for 20 hours each week.
