Assistant Editor – Ink

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Process incoming deliveries and notify the production team regarding any missing footage or discrepancies.

• Generate and transcode media for editorial handoffs and distribute it to the creative team, studio executives, and other studio departments.

• Monitor approvals, various cut versions, and outputs from the editorial team while following studio protocols.

• Uphold quality control standards pertaining to technical and security requirements.

• Ensure that editing tools operate correctly and report any issues to the technical directors.

• Communicate any outstanding tasks and issues effectively.

• Provide support across all production areas within the Editorial department.

• Organize and manage experimental AI creations, prompt-driven versioning, unconventional media formats, and standard editorial footage.

• Ensure adherence to data and security standards for proprietary generative AI training data and assets.

• Assist the Lead Editor, Associate Producer, and production team in experimental animation production workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience on a Feature or Episodic editorial team, preferably in Animation.

• At least 2 years of experience with AVID Media Composer or DaVinci Resolve.

• High adaptability to ambiguity and rapid changes; demonstrated ability to remain composed and adjust quickly when production workflows or experimental tools evolve.

• Strong understanding of project organization and archival processes.

• In-depth knowledge of hardware and software used for video and audio format conversion and compression.

• Comprehensive understanding of video and audio file formats and metadata.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Familiarity with Photoshop, Flix, Media Encoder, and After Effects outputs is not mandatory but advantageous.

• Knowledge of AI tools, Cursor, and other agents, as well as associated workflows, is a plus.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and both give and receive feedback.
