This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support the production editorial team by preparing books for publication during the final stages of development.
• Evaluate typeset pages, printers’ proofs, final PDFs, book jackets, and covers for typographical accuracy, stylistic coherence, and adherence to quality standards.
• Compile changes from proofreaders and authors to the interior text files, ensuring that revisions are integrated correctly.
• Utilize Adobe Acrobat commenting tools to mark up PDFs with editorial and layout adjustments.
• Perform production editorial checks on typeset pages, including line breaks, text flow, folios, headers and footers, stacking, widows and orphans, formatting, as well as sketch and art verifications.
• Proofread and verify the accuracy of cover copy.
• Copyedit and proofread supplementary documents, such as praise pages, marketing materials, and reading group guides.
• Assist in the production of bound galleys and implement corrections for reprints.
• Help with administrative tasks and maintain updated status grids.
• Participate in departmental and company meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues from Editorial and Design and engage in one-on-one meetings throughout the organization.
• Must be available to work full-time in 2027 or 2028.
• Acceptable candidates include rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry-level individuals with up to one year of work experience.
• Must be able to work 21 hours per week over 3 or 4 days from February 8 to April 16, 2027.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Candidates should be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
• A strong passion for books is highly regarded.
• Compensation is offered at a rate of $18 per hour.
