Telehealth Psychiatric Physician Assistant – Eating Disorders

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and manage medication for patients with complex psychiatric profiles, including eating disorders and concurrent psychiatric issues.

• Offer psychiatric assessments and consultations to external psychiatric providers for ongoing patient care.

• Execute medication treatment strategies in a virtual telehealth environment.

• Assess medical risks associated with eating disorders within the psychiatric framework, considering their impact on psychiatric symptoms, medication choices, safety, and care level requirements.

• Collaborate with medical professionals, dietitians, therapists, patient mentors, family mentors, and external providers.

• Utilize between-session messaging to assist patients and liaise with the treatment team via Equip’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.

• Engage in treatment team meetings, supervision, educational opportunities, and departmental gatherings.

• Perform additional responsibilities as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board Certification as a Psychiatric Physician Assistant.

• Hold an active license to practice in the states where patients are located, or be willing to obtain licenses in additional states.

• Dedication to providing outstanding evidence-based care, enhancing clinical competencies, and pursuing professional growth.

• Strong communication skills with patients and their caregivers, ensuring prompt response to messages.

• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and active involvement in a multidisciplinary team.

• Comfort and experience in treating eating disorders, emotional dysregulation, suicidal thoughts, substance use, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and ADHD.

• Capability to deliver direct patient care, including initial and follow-up appointments.

• Availability to work until 6 PM on two evenings each week.

• Willingness to attend mandatory meetings.

• Ability to work during Eastern Time Zone hours.
