Telecom MSP Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee multiple simultaneous telecommunications and managed services projects from initiation to successful completion and closure.

• Supervise intricate infrastructure projects, including Ethernet, SD-WAN, GPON, and firewall implementations across various customer locations.

• Direct internal engineering, operations, and service delivery teams; assign tasks, monitor advancement, and ensure accountability to project milestones and deliverables.

• Manage strategic partnerships with major telecom carriers such as AT&T, Lumen/CenturyLink, and Verizon.

• Negotiate carrier agreements, expedite circuit ordering, and resolve escalated issues effectively.

• Develop and uphold project plans, budgets, resource allocations, and strategies for risk mitigation.

• Establish and monitor KPIs, project metrics, and criteria for success; report progress to executive leadership and clients.

• Identify, evaluate, and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and changes in scope; implement corrective measures as needed.

• Mentor and guide junior project managers.

• Act as the primary point of contact for customer communications and manage expectations from C-level stakeholders.

• Enhance project management processes and systems while implementing process improvements.

• Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, lessons learned, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in project management, program management, or senior operations roles within the telecommunications or managed services sectors.

• Proven expertise in managing large-scale telecom and network infrastructure projects, including Ethernet, SD-WAN, GPON, and firewall deployments.

• Extensive experience in coordinating with major carriers for circuit ordering, provisioning, and complex service implementations.

• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, resources, and timelines for multi-million dollar initiatives.

• Experience overseeing multiple vendors and carrier timelines across concurrent, high-priority projects.

• Advanced proficiency with project management tools, ticketing systems, and business intelligence or reporting platforms.

• Strong leadership experience in directing and mentoring cross-functional teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including communication with executives and C-level personnel.

• Exceptional organizational skills, strategic thinking, and attention to detail in complex environments.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and clients.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.

• Experience managing enterprise-level business connectivity projects across multiple sites.

• In-depth knowledge of telecom ordering processes, including ASR/LSR concepts and carrier provisioning workflows.

• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.

• Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.

• Proven track record of delivering projects ahead of schedule or under budget.
