Technical Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assess training needs for both internal and external clients concerning the Caterpillar product range.

• Organize, create, and deliver essential training courses and seminars for customers and technicians.

• Travel to customer locations or branches as necessary.

• Assist in the ongoing development of both Toromont’s and customers’ workforce capabilities.

• Ensure that technical support personnel are equipped to carry out safe, efficient, professional, and thorough repairs.

• Keep up-to-date with Cat machine technology through self-directed learning and formal training.

• Collaborate with Service Training Instructors, Apprenticeship Training Coordinator, Shop Supervisors, PSMs, sales teams, and customers to determine training requirements.

• Organize, utilize, and maintain classrooms, training bays, tools, projectors, and equipment.

• Execute administrative duties, prepare evaluations and reports, and offer feedback to service management.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Service Training Supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• College diploma in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Coach, or equivalent training and experience.

• Provincial Heavy Equipment Certification, Mechanics license, or equivalent qualifications.

• At least 5 years of experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing Caterpillar equipment.

• Preferably prior experience as a lead hand, field service technician, or in another high-profile role.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and Caterpillar Service Software.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations or branches as needed.
