Technical Service Engineer BESS – Northern Europe

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Deliver on-site technical assistance during the installation, commissioning, testing, and handover phases of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

• Oversee installation processes and ensure adherence to technical specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.

• Conduct system commissioning, functional assessments, and grid connection tasks.

• Address on-site technical challenges regarding electrical installations, system integration, and grid compliance.

• Facilitate project acceptance, resolve punch-list items, and manage final technical handover to clients.

• Attend to customer technical inquiries through remote or on-site support, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.

• Diagnose hardware, software, communication, and system performance concerns, escalating complex matters as necessary.

• Oversee aftersales service operations via the service management system, documenting and finalizing work orders.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, technical support, and sales teams.

• Provide customer training on system operation, routine maintenance, and safety protocols.

• Address customer complaints and coordinate necessary corrective actions.

• Gather and relay customer feedback, technical challenges, and field insights to facilitate product enhancements.

• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of BESS products, system architecture, and commissioning practices.

• Assist in managing spare parts inventory and ensure service tools are well maintained.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or a technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.

• Generally, 3–7 years of experience in field service, commissioning, site engineering, or technical support within BESS, PV, power systems, electrical infrastructure, or a comparable sector.

• Robust understanding of electrical systems, inverters, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), or power conversion devices.

• Experience with electrical installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

• Capability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line drawings.

• Preferred knowledge of grid connection requirements and electrical safety protocols.

• Experience in utility-scale or commercial renewable energy projects is a plus.

• Proficiency in English at C1 level (professional working proficiency).

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

• Practical knowledge of electrical systems and commissioning methodologies.

• A structured, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious approach to work.

• Excellent customer service and communication capabilities.

• Ability to work independently in challenging site environments.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Competence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

• High adaptability and readiness for extensive travel.
