Technical SEO Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and assist in conducting technical SEO audits for client websites.

• Evaluate crawlability, indexation, canonicalization, redirects, robots directives, XML sitemaps, pagination, duplicate content, and site structure.

• Detect technical issues utilizing Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Semrush.

• Analyze Core Web Vitals, page performance, rendering, JavaScript SEO, and mobile search factors.

• Review structured data and offer recommendations for schema implementation.

• Identify technical SEO vulnerabilities linked to website redesigns, migrations, platform changes, and releases.

• Create clear, prioritized recommendations based on SEO implications and implementation effort.

• Collaborate with developers and technical teams to address issues and provide implementation support.

• Verify fixes post-development releases and monitor for regressions.

• Assist in ongoing technical SEO monitoring and governance.

• Execute targeted on-page optimization, which includes metadata, headings, internal linking, and content structure.

• Conduct keyword research and analyze search intent.

• Identify enhancements for information architecture and internal linking.

• Support content teams by providing SEO recommendations.

• Utilize Google Search Console and GA4 to assess organic search performance.

• Analyze rankings, impressions, clicks, traffic, and landing page performance.

• Link technical SEO findings to quantifiable organic search results.

• Assist in SEO reporting, analysis, and prioritization efforts.

• Build and configure custom crawls, extractions, segments, and technical QA workflows.

• Document repeatable processes and contribute to scalable SEO delivery methodologies.

• Collaborate with teams in SEO, Behavioral Analytics, CRO, Content, Strategy, UX, and Development.

• Translate technical SEO insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Participate in client meetings when technical SEO expertise is required.

• Support integrated initiatives that include SEO, AEO/GEO, analytics, experimentation, content, and digital experience optimization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of practical SEO experience, specifically in technical SEO.

• Solid understanding of crawlability and indexation.

• In-depth knowledge of canonicalization and redirects.

• Proficient understanding of XML sitemaps and robots.txt.

• Strong knowledge of site architecture and internal linking.

• Comprehensive understanding of Core Web Vitals and site performance metrics.

• Expertise in structured data/schema.

• Strong grasp of JavaScript SEO and rendering considerations.

• Familiarity with website migrations and redesigns.

• Advanced proficiency in Screaming Frog.

• Significant experience with Google Search Console.

• Familiarity with SEO platforms such as Ahrefs and/or Semrush.

• Working knowledge of GA4 and web analytics.

• Ability to independently investigate technical issues and ascertain probable root causes.

• Capable of documenting findings, recommendations, priorities, and implementation requirements clearly.

• Comfortable managing multiple clients and adapting to shifting priorities.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
