Technical SEO Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage a cohesive Schema.org graph throughout the website.

• Determine the JSON-LD placement and injection strategies while justifying the trade-offs involved.

• Troubleshoot structured-data validation and eligibility challenges at the property level.

• Enhance the graph for visibility in AI and answer engines.

• Oversee the health of structured data and address markup regressions as production incidents.

• Take ownership of Core Web Vitals using tools such as CrUX, RUM, Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and trace analysis.

• Analyze the critical rendering path, render-blocking resources, hydration costs, long tasks, scripts, fonts, images, caching, and CDN behavior.

• Convert diagnoses into actionable engineering guidance and assist developers with implementation and verification.

• Set performance budgets and establish CI guardrails.

• Collaborate with frameworks like Next.js, React, Astro, SSR, SSG, ISR, CDNs, edge workers, and image pipelines.

• Manage JavaScript SEO and analyze crawler-rendered content.

• Conduct crawl and index architecture at scale, including log-file analysis, crawl budgets, faceted navigation, pagination, canonical tags, index bloat, soft-404s, and duplication issues.

• Lead technical SEO efforts during migrations and replatforming projects.

• Address hreflang, regional CDN behavior, and geo-routing challenges.

• Ensure indexability across gated content, headless CMS, SPA routes, programmatic pages, embedded tools, video, and event content.

• Utilize the Search Console API, GA4, server-side analytics, crawler exports, and log data with SQL or Python.

• Create reports that identify technical regressions, algorithm updates, and seasonal fluctuations.

• Provide technical analysis to guide content and information architecture decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering field.

• Over 6 years of experience in a dedicated SEO position, primarily focused on the technical aspects.

• Extensive expertise in Schema.org and experience in designing a multi-entity graph.

• Demonstrated success in guiding development teams through performance optimization using before-and-after field data.

• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Comfortable reading modern JavaScript framework codebases.

• Proficient with Git and experienced in pull-request reviews.

• Capable of writing Python or SQL for data-related tasks.

• Experience managing technical SEO during at least one large site migration or replatforming project.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Availability for daily overlap with US working hours.

• Preferred: Experience in B2B technology or enterprise services.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud, data, or AI topics, including AWS, data platforms, or agentic systems.

• Preferred: Hands-on experience with AI and LLM visibility.

• Preferred: Experience in building crawlers, API pipelines, monitors, or scripts.

• Preferred: SEO work at the edge-compute or CDN level using Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge, or similar technologies.
