Technical Sales Representative, Organic/Peptides

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Promote core chemistry instruments and consumables for flash chromatography, microwave synthesis, evaporation, and peptide synthesis systems.

• Oversee complete sales responsibilities for instruments and associated accessories within the designated territory.

• Conduct practical demonstrations to showcase business value and highlight product differentiation.

• Manage and uphold demonstration resources along with related accessories.

• Provide training to customers, ensuring they derive maximum benefit from Biotage products.

• Collaborate on the growth of consumable product sales alongside the Inside Sales Representative.

• Maintain relationships with existing customers and seek out new clientele.

• Deliver precise sales forecasts.

• Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.

• Qualify leads, systematically manage opportunities, and document activities and status in Salesforce.com.

• Create quotes and negotiate final pricing within authorized parameters.

• Provide timely, accurate standard reports and additional information as needed.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Located in the Greater Philadelphia area.

• Exceptional verbal, written, active listening, negotiation, persuasion, and communication skills.

• Capability to manage time efficiently, be self-motivated, creative, and maintain strong organizational abilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-directed environment with changing priorities.

• Proven success with complex pricing issues involving government and other granting bodies is advantageous.

• Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and CRM software (Salesforce.com).

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in a chemistry laboratory setting with Biotage or similar workflow tools is a plus.

• Demonstrated history of success in sales and account management is highly desirable.

• Experience in selling scientific equipment is beneficial.

• Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Field-based responsibilities at customer locations and in chemistry laboratories.

• Willingness to travel 3–5 days per week in the field, averaging 4 days.

• Travel may involve 2–5 overnight stays per month, varying by home location.
