This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Establish project aims, scope, deliverables, success metrics, timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
• Recognize project interdependencies, potential risks, and strategies for mitigation.
• Collaborate with engineering team leaders, research executives, and external stakeholders to collect requirements and set up communication channels.
• Coordinate and guide cross-functional project teams, delegate tasks, and track progress.
• Hold project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Oversee modifications to project scope, timeline, and resources via change control procedures.
• Identify, address, and escalate project issues and critical risks.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, sponsor mandates, research data management expectations, and open-source release protocols.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and manage their expectations.
• Oversee resources assigned to Digital Safety tasks and UL-wide initiatives.
• Facilitate communication among members of the project team.
• Conduct project evaluations and sessions to capture lessons learned.
• Document project results, achievements, and challenges encountered.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science.
• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience as a software engineer.
• PMP Certification (or an equivalent credential).
• At least four years of experience in product and program management.
• Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster).
• Six Sigma certifications.
• Exceptional leadership abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple simultaneous projects while balancing competing priorities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant technical expertise.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

• Understanding of budgeting principles, cost estimation, and financial management.
