This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Act as AECOM's senior corporate expert in hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and associated infrastructure systems.
• Offer technical leadership and advisory assistance on intricate, high-profile projects within AECOM's global water sector.
• Conduct independent technical assessments and engage in executive-level quality assurance and governance initiatives.
• Provide guidance on the planning, design, rehabilitation, and optimization of water, wastewater, stormwater, hydroelectric, industrial, and conveyance infrastructure systems.
• Chair or participate in Corporate Technical Review Committees for significant infrastructure projects.
• Assist with major pursuits and strategic growth efforts through technical methodologies, client presentations, interviews, and proposal crafting.
• Represent AECOM to clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, and professional societies.
• Create guidance documents, design methodologies, technical standards, and innovation initiatives.
• Engage in AECOM’s Water Academy program focused on Pumping Systems.
• Take part in forensic evaluations, troubleshooting initiatives, peer assessments, and risk mitigation studies.
• Mentor technical leaders, project managers, and design professionals.
• Promote collaboration among AECOM's technical practices and support strategic investments in emerging technologies and research projects.
• Publish technical articles, present at conferences, and uphold AECOM's leadership status within the engineering field.
• Maintain active engagement and leadership roles within national and international standards organizations and industry committees.
• Travel to project sites and AECOM offices as needed.
• BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field + 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience and/or education.
• Increasingly responsible experience in hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and water conveyance infrastructure.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with the capability to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions through comity/reciprocity.
• Established recognition as a national or international technical authority within the hydraulic engineering field.
• Strong comprehension of HI standards, AWWA standards, USBR guidance, USACE guidance, and related industry best practices.
• Extensive experience in leading complex hydraulic analyses and conducting physical hydraulic modeling studies.
• Demonstrated ability to convey intricate technical concepts to clients, executive leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a related engineering discipline (preferred).
• Over 15 years of progressively responsible experience in hydraulic engineering, pumping system intakes, and water conveyance infrastructure (preferred).
• More than 20 years of overall industry experience (preferred).
• Internationally acknowledged subject matter expert in hydraulic engineering and pumping systems (preferred).
