Technical Leader, Fullstack – Backend Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Lead and guide a team of engineers, fostering best practices, coding standards, and a culture focused on continuous improvement.

• Partner with frontend teams, product managers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to design and implement scalable technical solutions.

• Architect, develop, and sustain dependable backend services and APIs utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, and contemporary backend frameworks.

• Design scalable system architectures that ensure high availability, strong performance, security, and zero-downtime deployments.

• Drive technical decisions and manage the backend roadmap, balancing speed, scalability, and long-term code quality.

• Guarantee backend reliability and maintainability through testing, monitoring, logging, and incident management.

• Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to boost team efficiency, enhance developer experience, and improve the end-user product.

• Facilitate discussions around new technologies and pinpoint opportunities for innovation and advancement of the technology stack.

• Connect engineering and product by transforming business requirements into solid, scalable backend solutions.

• Influence the architecture and future of Axcera’s Forex trading technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in Backend Development.

• A minimum of 4 years in a leadership role.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and backend frameworks like NestJS or Express.js.

• Proven record in designing, building, and maintaining scalable APIs, services, and distributed systems.

• In-depth knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.

• Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

• Solid grasp of event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing.

• Experience with Apache Kafka is a plus.

• Demonstrated experience using AI tools and workflows and integrating AI into the development process.

• Experience in leading or mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and establishing technical direction.

• Good understanding of frontend concepts.

• Strong knowledge of software security, testing strategies, observability, and performance optimization.

• Ability to prioritize, adapt, and deliver under pressure without compromising on quality.

• Excellent communication skills.
