This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.
• Convert customer and study needs into technical tasks, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Supervise the creation, transformation, mapping, and validation of datasets across clinical studies and platform components.
• Assess data flows, mapping logic, database queries, data quality, and performance.
• Resolve complex data issues.
• Facilitate communication between customers, Project Management, Data Engineering, Science, Product, and R&D teams.
• Contribute to the development of scalable data architecture, reusable components, validation methods, and technical best practices.
• Assist in the onboarding and skill enhancement of Data Engineers.
• Provide technical direction and help set clear objectives and operational methods.
• Monitor technical progress, risks, dependencies, and obstacles.
• Ensure timely escalation of issues when necessary.
• Engage in customer discussions to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 2 years of pertinent professional experience in data engineering, data management, software/data development, or a comparable technical area.
• Robust experience with data pipelines, data transformation, integration, mapping, and data quality processes.
• Proven ability to translate business or customer needs into technical solutions and developer-ready tasks.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in coordinating or providing technical guidance to engineers or other technical professionals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of ETL/data-processing pipelines, data mapping, validation, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with CSV, XML, JSON, SAS, and preferably clinical data standards such as CDISC.
• Knowledge of APIs, SFTP, Azure Storage, and AWS S3.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Additional training or experience in data management or clinical research is a plus.
• Scripting experience in Python, Node.js, C#, or similar languages is advantageous.
• Understanding of clinical trials, RBQM, GCP, ICH E6/E8, and 21 CFR Part 11 is a bonus.
• Experience with SaaS products or data-intensive software platforms is desirable.
• Experience in Product Management or Business Analysis is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, DevOps, or cloud-based data architectures is a plus.
