This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +6 more states.
• Analyze infrastructure environments such as storage, compute, network, cloud, backup, and platform services to discover opportunities for cost reduction and optimization.
• Assess technology consumption, utilization, capacity, and growth trends through operational and financial datasets.
• Generate insights on asset utilization, underused resources, redundant technologies, and areas for consolidation.
• Assist in infrastructure demand forecasting and cost modeling efforts.
• Consolidate and evaluate data from CMDB platforms, infrastructure monitoring tools, cloud usage reports, purchase orders, vendor contracts, invoice data, asset inventories, financial systems, and engineering documentation.
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and trend analysis across various data sources.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical models to enhance technology cost transparency initiatives.
• Create financial and technical business cases for infrastructure optimization projects.
• Formulate hypotheses regarding cost reduction, efficiency in consumption, technology modernization, and rationalization opportunities.
• Quantify potential savings, cost avoidance, investment needs, and operational impacts.
• Convert complex data findings into clear and concise communications for a diverse audience.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, architects, service owners, procurement teams, and finance partners to comprehend technology environments and validate assumptions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance cost management processes, reporting capabilities, and data quality.
• Contribute to the automation and standardization of reporting, analytics, and business case development processes.
• Oversee, maintain, and compile data assets in the functional production support process.
• Collect, clean, and analyze data using SQL, Excel, Python, or Tableau.
• Recognize patterns, trends, and correlations to support descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
• Assist in the creation of branding, communication, and training materials.
• Develop and maintain digital asset libraries for efficient retrieval and reuse.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 1-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, Technology Operations, FinOps, IT asset management, technology financial management, IT analytics, or technology consulting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Experience in creating reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to translate technical information into business-oriented recommendations.
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, Tableau, statistical methods, and visualization software.
• Familiarity with AI concepts and their organizational applications.
• Knowledge of Python, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, clean code practices, debugging, and Git.
• Understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, and model evaluation.
• Knowledge of data cleaning, transformation, feature engineering, and structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with SharePoint and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records, and adhere to documentation standards.
• Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM), Apptio, or IT Finance is helpful but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including storage, virtualization, servers and compute, cloud services, network infrastructure, and backup and recovery technologies is preferred.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, ServiceNow, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of IT financial management, chargeback/showback, TBM, FinOps, or cost allocation methodologies is preferred.
• Exposure to vendor management, contract analysis, software licensing, or procurement processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of CMDB structures and IT asset management practices is preferred.
• Experience in building financial models or business cases is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without Humana sponsorship.
