This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee cost and pricing initiatives for intricate development and production proposals from RFP stage to award, including negotiations and cost/pricing RFIs.
• Direct the formulation and validation of proposal cost structures, encompassing engineering BOEs, product and material expenses, labor, overhead, and third-party costs.
• Create and suggest pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, profitability, risk, contractual obligations, and business goals.
• Offer technical guidance to Proposal Analysts and members of cross-functional proposal teams.
• Evaluate cost data and assumptions, pinpoint cost drivers, risks, gaps, and opportunities, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Prepare and assess Cost Volumes, Sweep Packages, pricing packages, and associated financial analyses.
• Conduct pricing reviews and articulate strategies, assumptions, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Develop and sustain consolidated Bills of Materials while ensuring the accuracy of proposal material costing.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, and other departments to establish and document cost structures.
• Lead costing and pricing efforts for third-party items, incorporating quotes and risk considerations.
• Update and maintain direct and indirect rates in ProPricer.
• Execute closed-loop analyses comparing actual costs post-award with bid assumptions.
• Develop standardized costing and pricing models, methodologies, and tools.
• Identify and apply process enhancements for proposal cost and pricing tools and procedures.
• Counsel senior proposal, business unit, product, finance, and stakeholder leadership on intricate costing and pricing issues.
• Promote best practices, standards, and processes in proposal pricing.
• Ensure the timely completion of proposal pricing activities and necessary approvals.
• Provide expert assistance during customer negotiations and internal reviews.
• Manage multiple complex proposals and competing priorities effectively.
• Address ambiguous or highly complex costing and pricing challenges with minimal guidance.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and consistency of proposal costing and pricing practices.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in proposal cost development, pricing, financial analysis, or a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or high-technology setting; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
• Extensive experience in crafting cost and pricing strategies for both government and commercial proposals.
• Strong comprehension and practical application of FAR principles, including FAR 14, 15, 16, and 31.
• Significant experience pricing CPFF, FFP, and T&M contract types for sole-source and competitive bids.
• Proficiency in ProPricer is a must.
• Advanced expertise in proposal cost development, cost analysis, and financial modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of proposal pricing methodologies, cost structures, and risk analysis.
• Capability to lead complex proposals and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Ability to formulate, assess, and advocate pricing recommendations to senior leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Significant experience with integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Experience in preparing and validating consolidated Bills of Materials.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority proposals and achieve results within tight deadlines.
• Capacity to work independently while providing leadership and guidance to others.
• Skill in navigating ambiguity, exercising sound business judgment, and developing solutions to complex issues with minimal supervision.
• Strong collaboration abilities across Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Program Management, Product Management, and Business Unit leadership.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and the capacity to implement process enhancements.
• Familiarity with the defense and aerospace sectors, U.S. government clients, and government contracting practices is highly preferred.
• The position may require exposure to export-controlled information and additional security screening.
