Technical Consultant – Patient Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide both onsite and remote technical assistance for customer-related issues

• Identify and resolve problems related to systems, networks, and applications

• Install, configure, integrate, and test solutions for patient monitoring and IT infrastructure

• Utilize knowledge of customer environments and requirements to enhance system setup and ensure long-term performance

• Address technical challenges using approved tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic techniques

• Investigate root causes and implement sustainable solutions to enhance system reliability

• Keep documentation updated regarding system configurations, troubleshooting efforts, and support protocols

• Adhere to configuration management and version control standards

• Collaborate with senior engineers, clinical partners, sales, and service teams

• Develop technical knowledge and engage in knowledge-sharing and service improvement initiatives

• Travel approximately 75% within Northern Illinois and Wisconsin to various customer and healthcare sites

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2.5 years of professional experience in IT services or a related technical field

• Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a field or hospital environment, is preferred

• Strong preference for experience with patient monitoring systems, telemetry units, ventilators, and defibrillators

• Basic understanding of IT systems, networking principles, and technical troubleshooting

• Preferred certifications in computer networking, such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent/higher-level certification

• An associate degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience

• Willingness to travel for work, approximately 75% within the specified area

• Daily driving time averaging between 1 to 4 hours

• Occasional overnight travel and travel by air or train may be necessary

• Capacity to work in office/home office and/or remote settings, as well as in hospital/healthcare environments

• Must comply with vendor credentialing requirements

• Flexibility to work non-standard hours, overtime, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations

• Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment

• US work authorization is mandatory; candidates needing current or future visa sponsorship will not be considered

• Must reside in Northern Illinois (north of Springfield, Illinois) or Wisconsin

• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
