Federal Contracts Consultant – GovCon

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Provide support throughout the entire contract lifecycle, from pre-award to closeout, across various clients, contract types, and federal contracting vehicles.

• Facilitate coordination of agreements, subcontracts, deliverables, action trackers, and contract priorities in collaboration with client leadership and program management teams.

• Offer guidance to clients regarding competitive, sole-source, and directed prime and subcontract awards.

• Analyze complex solicitations, proposal compliance requirements, awards, modifications, risks, and deliverables.

• Draft, review, redline, and negotiate NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontracts, joint ventures, GSA Contractor Teaming Arrangements, and consulting agreements.

• Lead client meetings and negotiations concerning proposals, modifications, termination settlements, and requests for equitable adjustment within assigned authority.

• Develop compliance matrices and contract briefs; assist clients in adhering to FAR, DFARS, and relevant agency supplement requirements.

• Ensure accurate maintenance of contract systems, deliverables, metrics, SAM.gov entity registrations, Service Contract Reporting, and necessary certifications.

• Act as the primary client contact by leading status meetings, proactively escalating risks and noncompliance, and adapting to each client’s systems, communication styles, and risk tolerance.

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team learning within a collaborative contracts practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in contract and subcontract management.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Strong understanding of FAR, federal acquisition policies, proposal compliance, flowdowns, and contract risk management.

• Direct experience with NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontracts, modifications, contract negotiation, and full life-cycle contract administration.

• Familiarity with GWACs and multiple-award vehicles such as OASIS+, NASA SEWP, Alliant, Polaris, STARS, or similar federal contracting vehicles.

• Capability to manage multiple clients, priorities, deliverables, and timelines using independent judgment and effective communication.

• Confidence in advising PMs, executives, and client stakeholders, while knowing when to research, escalate issues, and ensure closure.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Excel.

• Preferred: experience in consulting, shared services, outsourced contract management, or multi-client advisory roles.

• Preferred: contractor-side GovCon experience with direct exposure to federal contract operations.

• Preferred: experience with DoD, DFARS, or relevant agency supplements.

• Preferred: CFCM certification.

• Preferred: experience with SBIR/STTR, OTAs, or other nonstandard FAR-based instruments.

• Preferred: experience mentoring junior contracts professionals.
