This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide support for warfare systems utilized by US Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, encompassing command and control, navigation, communications, surface-to-ship combat, countermeasures, fire control, integrated afloat networks, and specialized systems.
• Engage in and manage the technical approval process for Ship Alterations (ShipAlts) and facilitate Technical Assessment Team (TAT) reviews related to Ship Change Documents (SCDs).
• Assist the VTAT Lead in executing TAT responsibilities for SCDs associated with the Nimitz and Ford Class Aircraft Carriers.
• Keep the VTAT Lead updated on task assignments and evolving priorities, while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce backlog.
• Deliver weekly SCD Status Reports to the VTAT Lead for submission to the Project Manager for Modernization (PMS 312E).
• Provide updates in the absence of the VTAT Lead.
• Collaborate with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, TYCOM, PMS 312, PMS 378, SUPSHIP Newport News, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Ship Repair Facility, and other entities to address technical issues.
• Evaluate technical data packages, drawings, reports, logistics materials, and training documents, offering technical recommendations.
• Create formal presentations to brief senior officials.
• High School Diploma or an equivalent level of education.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in ship change documentation development and management or related document control roles.
• Previous experience with the CVN 68 or CVN 78 Class systems.
• Familiarity with U.S. Navy vessels, with a preference for nuclear-powered ships.
• Experience in communication with both technical and non-technical personnel across all levels.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Current or active Secret clearance, or the capability to secure an Interim Secret clearance prior to employment.
• Must be able to maintain a stationary position for 50% of the time.
• Ability to occasionally navigate within the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, or communicate with colleagues, management, and clients via email, phone, or virtual platforms.
