This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and lead the architecture for the designated business area.
• Convert business strategy, product priorities, and architectural framework into executable solutions, technical designs, and features ready for delivery.
• Develop systems that integrate AI-enabled functionalities that deliver tangible business value.
• Set up guidelines for the safe and effective use of AI in applications and workflows.
• Promote AI-assisted development practices, such as copilots, code generation, automated testing, intelligent engineering workflows, agents, and reusable AI skills.
• Uphold standards for accuracy, security, and maintainability with clear accountability.
• Establish and reinforce architectural standards, patterns, and design guidelines.
• Oversee design reviews and key technical decisions related to APIs, services, data flows, and platform components.
• Collaborate with developers and technical leads to ensure that the architecture is effectively implemented in code.
• Identify risks, address architectural challenges, and navigate trade-offs related to cost, scalability, reliability, security, and delivery speed.
• Work together with product, engineering, platform, security, data, and other partner teams.
• Assess emerging technologies, tools, and platforms for roadmap and delivery requirements.
• Enhance engineering efficiency through contemporary architectural patterns, automation, observability, and AI-native delivery methodologies.
• Mentor developers and fellow architects.
• Fulfill responsibilities detailed in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
• Undertake special projects and other assigned tasks.
• Represent Cotiviti's interoperability expertise both internally and externally.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 6 years of experience in designing and developing web, workflow, service, and backend applications.
• Direct accountability for architecture and software design for one or more teams.
• Extensive experience in application and solution architecture, including API design, service decomposition, integration patterns, and applications oriented toward users or workflows.
• Practical experience with modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Golang, Spring, or similar technologies.
• Robust experience in creating rich, responsive APIs and service-oriented systems.
• In-depth knowledge of microservices, cloud-native architecture, cloud platforms, distributed applications, streaming patterns, and enterprise integration strategies.
• Experience in implementing AI-assisted development, agent-based workflows, and reusable AI skills to enhance design, coding, testing, and delivery results.
• Familiarity with agents, copilots, code generation, automated testing, and the intelligent orchestration of development workflows.
• Strong judgment to ensure accuracy, security, and maintainability.
• Significant experience throughout the software development lifecycle, including Agile delivery, CI/CD, DevOps practices, APM, and observability.
• Ability to translate business requirements into architectural specifications and assess trade-offs concerning cost, scalability, reliability, security, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead architecture and software design across teams or business areas, build consensus, mentor engineers, and make sound technical decisions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and effectively collaborate across teams, stakeholders, vendors, and partners.
• Strong hands-on technical expertise with the capability to review implementation details and resolve intricate technical issues.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Capable of translating regulatory and clinical requirements into technical solutions and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a proven history of driving initiatives from conception to execution.
• Leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Initiative and the ability to lead without formal authority when necessary.
