Backend Coverage Intern, 6 months

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and enhance integrations with employment and income data sources.

• Investigate web and mobile applications to comprehend backend communication.

• Engage with documented, partially documented, and undocumented third-party APIs.

• Troubleshoot authentication flows, network requests, and data extraction processes.

• Write clean, reliable, and maintainable code in Python.

• Examine technical challenges and contribute to innovative solutions.

• Acquire and implement engineering practices, design patterns, and clean architecture.

• Participate in testing, monitoring, and automation efforts.

• Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Developers, and other team members.

• Take responsibility for your work, iterate swiftly, learn from feedback, and strive for continuous improvement.

• Gradually tackle more complex problems and assume greater ownership.

• Proficiency in Python gained through internships, personal projects, coursework, or professional experience.

• Practical experience with web scraping, automation, or data extraction.

• A keen interest in exploring and debugging web and/or mobile applications.

• Curiosity regarding HTTP, APIs, and backend communication.

• A self-directed learning attitude and a readiness to address challenging technical issues.

• A strong interest in fintech, data, and financial inclusion.

• Capability to learn autonomously and manage unfamiliar technical challenges.

• Proficient written and spoken English; the team operates entirely in English.

• Nice to have: experience with undocumented or partially documented third-party APIs.

• Nice to have: network debugging and traffic analysis skills.

• Nice to have: understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms.

• Nice to have: knowledge of web/mobile application security, encryption, and common security protocols.

• Nice to have: experience in investigating web/mobile applications at a deeper level.

• Nice to have: familiarity with privacy-by-design principles.

• Nice to have: experience with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, or DevOps practices.

• Nice to have: understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and commitment to technical excellence.

• Nice to have: ability to work independently or as a member of a remote team.

• Must be eligible for hire in Morocco.
