Tech Lead, Russian Speaker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and technical roadmap for all Whizz systems.

• Evaluate every pull request prior to merging and maintain a clear review standard.

• Design and oversee the database architecture utilizing MySQL and PostgreSQL.

• Manage Docker images, deployments, and environments.

• Foster AI-assisted development within the team: including agent instructions, prompts, and rules for evaluating AI-generated code.

• Convert product requirements into technical tasks while mentoring backend, frontend, and mobile developers.

• Lead incident response efforts and deliver root-cause fixes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years in backend development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Proficient in PHP 8 and capable of working across all our codebases: PHP, TypeScript (Vue / Nuxt, React / Next.js), and Flutter.

• Strong expertise in database architecture, including data modeling, migrations, and query optimization for MySQL and PostgreSQL.

• Experience with Docker in production environments.

• Regular usage of AI development tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) and familiarity with crafting agent instructions for a team.

• Daily practice of code review: adept at identifying logic, data safety, and security issues, in addition to stylistic concerns.

• Background in working with Stripe or a comparable payment provider and handling REST API integrations.

• Fluent in English and a native Russian speaker.

• Availability to work strictly on New York time (EST/EDT).

• Hands-on experience with ProcessWire development.

• Experience in Flutter development and app store releases.

• Familiarity with subscription billing or fintech domains.

• Experience with CapRover or another Docker PaaS and CI/CD setups.
