This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take charge of OleOle Sport’s technology platform.
• Design and develop the independent consumer website along with the foundational commerce platform.
• Integrate ticket and travel inventory from various providers.
• Own the technology from the architectural phase through to production.
• Make crucial technical decisions while personally constructing significant components of the platform.
• Create systems for inventory, availability, pricing, reservations/orders, checkout, payments, fulfillment, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Develop abstraction layers to avoid reliance on any single provider.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO, payments architecture leadership, product teams, design, and other platform teams.
• Recruit, mentor, and ultimately lead a small, high-performing engineering team.
• Maintain clear ownership of OleOle Sport while working in collaboration across the organization.
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Significant experience in roles such as Staff, Principal, Lead, Architect, or equivalent.
• Proven track record in architecting and developing high-scale consumer transactional platforms.
• Strong preference for direct experience in travel, ticketing, hospitality, reservations, booking platforms, marketplaces, or complex e-commerce.
• Hands-on experience in designing systems related to inventory, availability, pricing, reservations/orders, checkout, payments, fulfillment, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Experience in integrating various external suppliers, vendors, APIs, payment providers, or inventory sources.
• Solid understanding of transactional reliability, including idempotency, retries, concurrency, inventory holds, partial failures, asynchronous workflows, reconciliation, and recovery.
• Extensive full-stack engineering experience with modern consumer web technologies.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Java, Go, Rust, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, or similar technologies is advantageous.
• Experience in designing highly available systems that can manage significant traffic surges and high-value transactions.
• Strong understanding of security, authentication, payment security, observability, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Experience with international and multilingual consumer products is highly desirable.
• Experience in architecting large-scale SEO or programmatic SEO platforms is a significant advantage.
• Production experience with AI/LLM systems, agents, tool/function calling, recommendation systems, or AI-assisted content/data platforms is valuable.
• Ability to work closely with the CTO, payments architecture leadership, product teams, design, and other platform teams.
• Willingness and desire to remain deeply hands-on.
• Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and eventually leading a small, high-performing engineering team.
• Strong product judgment and ability to translate early-stage business requirements into production architecture.
• Capability to adapt to ambiguity, changing priorities, and early-stage company growth.
• Knowledge of football and international sports is a significant plus.
• Deferred compensation begins accruing at the start of the engagement and is paid once OleOle secures its funding.
• Following funding, transition to a competitive market salary.
• Equity and token ownership will be available after funding.
