Tech Lead – Data, Snowflake

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Define and validate technical decisions regarding Snowflake.

• Ensure the data platform's performance, security, and scalability.

• Implement systems to detect anomalies and continuously enhance data flows.

• Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers and Developers.

• Validate developed pipelines and ensure they are production-ready.

• Communicate and uphold the team's guidelines and standards.

• Gather business requirements and convert them into practical, efficient data solutions.

• Design and deliver relevant dashboards for monitoring activities and management.

• Propose data architectures customized for specific use cases.

• Facilitate collaboration between technical and functional teams.

• Identify opportunities for optimization.

• Evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies into the data ecosystem.

• Provide strategic recommendations on the utilization of Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and Data/AI solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Higher education degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of proven experience in Data Engineering, including expertise in Snowflake.

• Significant experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Data Engineer, or Data Product Owner in a complex environment.

• Experience in the automotive sector or with large international organizations is preferred.

• Experience in gathering and formalizing business requirements.

• Excellent command of Snowflake, including data modeling, advanced SQL, query optimization, and warehouse management.

• Strong data engineering experience in designing ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Talend, Informatica).

• Good understanding of cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, etc.).

• Familiarity with data modeling methodologies (Data Vault, Kimball, Star Schema).

• Proficient with CI/CD tools and DevOps environments applied to data.

• Experience addressing data security, governance, and quality challenges.

• Knowledge of AI/ML with experience working alongside Data Science teams.

• Ability to analyze and comprehend business needs across finance, supply chain, marketing, etc.

• Capability to design straightforward, value-driven solutions.

• Ability to identify anomalies and recommend prompt corrective actions.

• Experience in implementing dashboards and key performance indicators.

• Experience working collaboratively with Data Science and AI teams.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical topics to non-specialists.

• Natural leadership abilities and a talent for supporting and developing team members.

• High level of autonomy and strong organizational skills.

• Results-oriented, with effective prioritization skills.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
