Tech Lead – AI Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead the architectural decisions for the platform and document the reasoning behind those choices.

• Provide technical leadership for the squad by establishing standards, performing code reviews, and ensuring quality delivery and progress.

• Collaborate with the team to write code and build solutions together.

• Establish tools and practices for AI-assisted development, including reviewing outputs and setting usage boundaries.

• Act as the technical point of contact with an external integration partner, proactively identifying and managing dependency risks.

• Formulate the strategy for containerization, deployment, observability, and infrastructure as code within Azure.

• Convert technical constraints into product decisions in collaboration with the Product Owner and design team, and vice versa.

• Enhance team development through mentoring, pairing, and sharing contextual knowledge.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in software development, particularly in leading technical squads.

• Full-stack proficiency with Java for backend development and React for frontend.

• Experience with Docker and containerization techniques.

• Skilled in deploying and managing applications on Azure.

• Comprehensive understanding of relational databases, including modeling, performance optimization, and migrations.

• Familiarity with non-relational databases and the ability to determine when to use each type effectively.

• Experience with asynchronous processing tools such as RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS, or Kafka.

• Regular use of Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools for AI-assisted development.

• Strong judgment on when AI tools enhance development and when they may impede it.

• Proven experience in integrating third-party APIs.

• Knowledge in designing an anti-corruption layer for unstable contracts.

• Excellent communication skills to confidently advocate for technical decisions in client discussions.

• High degree of autonomy and a strong sense of ownership.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to evolving requirements.

• Ability to decline certain approaches and propose alternatives effectively.

• Pragmatic in selecting solutions that align with timelines without sacrificing future potential.

• Nice to have: Experience with healthcare projects involving sensitive data and Brazil’s LGPD; MVP-stage products; legacy systems and monoliths; Azure and AWS.
