Software Engineer, AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop shared SDKs, APIs, and infrastructure for AI functionalities and agent-driven workflows.

• Implement durable execution infrastructure for extended agent workflows, which includes checkpointing, retries, human-in-the-loop processes, and recovery from partial failures.

• Advance the agent harness, focusing on the runtime for tool invocation, context management, memory, and model orchestration.

• Create evaluation and debugging tools that transform production failures into measurable enhancements and regression coverage.

• Enhance model integrations, retrieval, and context delivery to facilitate precise and effective AI behavior.

• Oversee platform capabilities through deployment and operation, ensuring reliability, observability, performance, and secure management of customer data.

• Collaborate with product teams to prototype solutions, identify shared needs, and promote the adoption of reusable platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundational software engineering skills and experience in building and managing backend services, APIs, or developer platforms.

• Practical experience in delivering LLM-powered products or agent-driven workflows, along with a solid understanding of their failure modes.

• Knowledge of durable execution or workflow orchestration platforms, with a focus on designing for idempotency, retries, and prolonged states.

• Familiarity with agent harnesses and frameworks, including tool design, context management, subagents, and their associated tradeoffs.

• Hands-on evaluation experience: establishing criteria for success, diagnosing failures, and assessing whether changes lead to improved outcomes.

• Strong product judgment: linking platform decisions to developer requirements and customer results.

• Proactive ownership, curiosity, and effective communication across teams in a fast-paced technical environment.

• Utilizes AI in daily tasks to enhance skills and improve outcomes, applying it to routine workflows, actively fostering fluency through experimentation, and exercising sound judgment to ensure high-quality AI-assisted work.
