This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for the Quality Assurance team while fostering its ongoing development.
• Establish clear priorities and assist team members through coaching, knowledge enhancement, and continuous growth.
• Evaluate the current quality assurance landscape and devise a sustainable, risk-based testing strategy.
• Collaborate with teams to determine suitable test scope, timing, and levels of testing.
• Propel the strategic advancement of test automation initiatives.
• Identify risks at an early stage and implement preventive quality assurance measures.
• Develop meaningful quality metrics and foster transparency regarding quality improvements.
• Assist in release and risk management, balancing quality standards with acceptable risks.
• Conduct joint root-cause analyses of defects and formulate appropriate corrective actions.
• Work closely with Development, Product Owners, Application Operations, and Support teams.
• Encourage a collective understanding of quality and embed it as a shared responsibility.
• Challenge existing processes, introduce innovative ideas, and pragmatically implement necessary changes.
• Several years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• Proficiency in testing methodologies, test strategies, test management, and test automation.
• Experience in technical leadership, mentoring colleagues, or facilitating team development.
• Familiarity with contemporary quality assurance methodologies, including manual, automated, and exploratory testing, the test pyramid, and risk-based testing strategies.
• Practical experience with test automation and modern Quality Assurance tools.
• Ideally, experience with Playwright, TestRail, and issue tracking systems.
• Understanding of Continuous Testing, automated regression testing, or integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of software development processes and collaboration with developers.
• Strategic and analytical thinking capabilities.
• Pragmatic, decisive, and able to assess risks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with a confident and reflective demeanor.
• Proficient in German at a minimum C1 level.
• Good command of English at least at B2 level.
