This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team through consistent feedback, performance evaluations, and tailored career development plans.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process.
• Collaborate with Engineering peers to establish the testing strategy and quality benchmarks.
• Assess and delegate Quality Engineering responsibilities based on product risks, roadmap goals, and team workload.
• Engage in test design, automation, and exploratory testing initiatives.
• Aid in the analysis of intricate defects and validate modifications across various product areas.
• Provide support to Quality Engineers, developers, and Product Managers in executing the testing strategy.
• Enhance testing tools and methodologies, including the judicious use of AI-assisted testing.
• Utilize customer issues, defect data, and test reliability statistics to pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Facilitate product launches by conveying test outcomes, existing risks, and quality recommendations.
• Convert company objectives and product priorities into a Quality Engineering roadmap with quantifiable improvement targets.
• Proven experience in leading a technical team, including mentoring, performance assessments, and personalized professional growth.
• Practical experience in software testing, crafting test strategies, and test automation.
• Familiarity with end-to-end, API, integration, or component testing.
• Experience in defining and presenting quality metrics.
• Proficient in utilizing quality metrics, test outcomes, and risk evaluations to identify deficiencies and aid in decision-making.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills with Engineering and Product teams.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts and trade-offs in a clear manner.
• Knowledge of the German language is not mandatory.
• Experience in e-commerce, open-source software, cloud applications, upgrades and migrations, as well as AI-assisted development and test automation is advantageous but not essential.
• Prior familiarity with Shopware is not required.
