T&D Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Plan, direct, and implement moderate to large-scale projects that support electric utilities.

• Manage the complete life cycle of substation or transmission projects.

• Oversee design, permitting, construction, community engagement, and key project milestones.

• Collaborate with and lead project stakeholders while coordinating with team members globally.

• Ensure that project deliverables and services surpass client expectations.

• Identify project opportunities and facilitate go/no-go decisions.

• Determine project fees, draft proposals, prepare and deliver client presentations, and negotiate contracts.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of business plans.

• Lead and support proposal initiatives for profitable growth.

• Build teams, secure new work, and enhance client relationships.

• Manage internal project financials, staffing, legal coordination, and risk management.

• Oversee projects that vary in size and complexity across multiple locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, along with 4 years of relevant experience, or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Project Management experience specifically related to transmission and substation engineering projects.

• Proven experience in delivering complex projects and/or programs with high quality, on schedule, and within the defined scope and budget.

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Preferred: Over 5 years of relevant experience, including project management, program management, and engineering of transmission and substation projects.

• Strong working knowledge of transmission electric utilities.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
