Tax Preparer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Prepare individual federal and state income tax filings.

• Gather, review, and organize tax documents provided by clients.

• Accurately input tax information into professional tax preparation software.

• Evaluate completed returns for accuracy and thoroughness.

• Confirm information prior to submission.

• Professionally communicate with clients regarding any missing or additional documentation.

• Clarify the tax preparation process to clients.

• Maintain precise client records and documentation.

• Safeguard confidential taxpayer and financial data.

• Adhere to IRS regulations, company policies, due diligence standards, and tax compliance protocols.

• Meet specified deadlines during the tax season.

• Provide outstanding customer service and cultivate enduring client relationships.

• Promote tax preparation services through networking, referrals, and community engagement.

• Develop a client portfolio through sustained client relationships.

• Engage in mandatory training and ongoing education.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

• Basic proficiency with computers.

• Ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly.

• Active IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN), or a willingness to obtain one before preparing tax returns.

• Successful completion of necessary tax preparation training prior to preparing client returns.

• Previous experience in tax preparation or financial services is advantageous but not mandatory.
