Tax Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Prepare intricate income tax returns for individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts, encompassing Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 1120, and 1041.

• Oversee and evaluate income tax returns for individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts.

• Develop and assess income tax return projections for individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts.

• Manage various client engagements while ensuring proactive communication with clients.

• Investigate complex federal and state tax issues and create practical solutions.

• Recognize and convey tax planning opportunities and suggestions to clients.

• Analyze financial statements and accounting records, including income tax basis financial statements.

• Guide and mentor staff and senior accountants by providing technical support.

• Assist in workflow planning, process enhancements, and engagement profitability.

• Remain updated on changes in federal and state tax legislation and inform clients and staff of pertinent developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field is mandatory.

• An active CPA or EA license is essential.

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with significant experience in tax preparation and review.

• Strong technical expertise in individual, S corporation, partnership, estate, and trust taxation.

• Experience in preparing and reviewing Form 1041 for estate and trust income tax returns.

• Exceptional skills in tax research, analysis, organization, and problem-solving.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Familiarity with Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, and other tax and accounting software is advantageous.
