Systems Programmer – z/OS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, test, and maintain software that governs computer operating systems, hardware, and systems software.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate systems challenges.

• Safeguard the integrity of computer systems.

• Partner with IT specialists to plan and implement technological solutions.

• Offer programming and program product support for Mainframe operating system platforms.

• Direct functional technology objectives and devise solutions for complex issues.

• Facilitate root cause analysis discussions for the products being supported.

• Provide continuous technical and operational support to professional teams.

• Potentially oversee departments on a national or international scale.

• Set objectives and manage resources to ensure project success.

• Persuade stakeholders beyond the department or function.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, configuration, and support of the z/OS operating system.

• Proficient in z/OS subsystems, with required experience in JES2.

• Familiarity with SMS and RACF/ACF2.

• Experience with IBM program products.

• Knowledge of standard mainframe ISV/OEM software products, including BMC and Broadcom/CA.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Preferred: experience with TCP/IP, NetView/SysView, FTP, SFTP, Connect:Direct, VIPA, DVIPA, ideally within a complex GDPS environment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
