Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Design and execute real-time automation control systems and information solutions.

• Develop solutions during the design phase of projects.

• Program, troubleshoot, and validate systems.

• Produce engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documents, case studies, and other necessary documentation.

• Deploy new solutions at client locations and identify areas for enhancement.

• Develop methodologies and address complex challenges.

• Acquire knowledge of new technologies.

• Guide and mentor peers in areas of expertise.

• Engage in PLC and PAC programming, HMI application design, SCADA design, network architecture, database design, and vision system development.

• Collaborate with clients to address manufacturing and industrial information challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful or anticipated completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology field.

• Academic or practical experience with some or all of the specified technologies.

• Detail-oriented, diligent, analytical, focused, self-motivated individual who learns quickly.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Valid Driver’s License required.

• Full-time access to a personal vehicle is necessary.

• Candidates must reside in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, or Maryland.

• Willingness to travel 30–50% within PA, NJ, NY, DE, and MD.

• The employee will be affiliated with and report to Grantek’s Allentown, PA office.

• Experience in the food and beverage or life sciences sectors is preferred.

• Familiarity with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, and Modbus is advantageous but not essential.

• Experience with Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is a plus.
